Hombuja (Shimoga District, Karnataka), July 14, 2015: His Holiness Swasti Sri Deevendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji, the pontiff of Hombuja Jain Math has said that the life & personality of Lord Bahubali who adopted ahimsa as a way of life is different from the one projected in the movie Bahubali. So, people should not get confused about the characters and story of the movie Bahubali to that of Lord Bahubali.

While speaking to press reporters in the premises of the Jain Math he opined that a comparision between the Bahubali characters is uncalled for. Further, he said that Lord Bahubali’s motto was always ahimsa and stood by that principle even in action. Where as Bahubali has been portrayed as a violent character that is capable of fighting in the movie. Hence people should not get influenced by this & should not conclude that the portrayal of Bahubali’s character in the movie is similar to that of Lord Bahubali.

In principle it is completely two different characters without any corelation. Lord Bahubali is always looked up as a messenger of Ahimsa i.e. non violence. He won over his brother by means of malla yudda (wrestling), Jala (water sport) Yudda & drishti Yudda (a game where 2 people stare at each other and the person who blinks first is the looser) which were all through non violence. It is really sad that name of such a great character is being used in a movie that glorifies violence.

At the first instance for a common man who is unaware of the background of the movie it gives an impression that it is related to the life of Lord Bahubali. Hence he called upon the people to not be confused by watching the movie and it is advisable that they should not compare both the characters.
It is upto the public to decide if the movie is good or not. Our only message is that Bahubali’s character portrayed in the movie is not related to Lord Bahubali.
