On one of the days of Kartika Masa every year special pooja is performed to Goddess Padmavati along with the Deepotsava. The idol of Goddess Padmavati was taken in a procession in a small chariot at Hombuja. Besides this the Parshwanath Swamy temple & Padmavatidevi temple is decorated with lights. – Sri Kshetra Hombuja

Hombuja (Hosanagara Taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka), November 22, 2013: The Deepotsava to Lord Parshwanth Swamy at Sri Kshetra Hombuja was performed on Friday, November 22, 2013 under the guidnace of His Holiness Swasti Sri Deveendrakeerthi Bhattarkaha Swamji of Hombuja Jain Math. On one of the days of Kartika Masa every year special pooja is performed to Lord Parshwanth along with the Deepotsava. It is remarkable to note that only on this day of the year Abhisheka to Lord Parshwanath is performed even during night along with the abhisheka every morning. Shravanabelagola (Hassan District, Karnataka), October 27, 2013: The Mangala pravesha of His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji’s of Hombuja Jain Mutt to Shravanabelagola was held on Saturday October 27, 2013. His Holiness Swamiji was welcomed with poorna kumbha and women carrying mangala kalashas on their head. He was taken in a procession to the Jain Mutt in a pallakki (planquin). This is the first time ever that His Holiness Swamiji has arrived at Shrvanabelagola after becoming the pontiff of Hombuja.
It can be recalled here that His Holiness Swamiji had started his education at Shravanabelagola while he was at class 8 and completed his studies here. His Holiness Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt happens to be his Guru and it is under his guidance that Devendrakeerthi Swamiji had completed religious education at Shravanabelagola.
Inuguration of Jain Samaj’s Samudhaya Bhavan: The G.K.D.Bharamaiah memorial Digambar Jain Samaj Samudaya Bhavan was also inaugurated today in the presence of His Holiness Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt and His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Hombuja Jain Mutt. Malakheda (Sedam Taluk, Gulbarga District, Karnataka): The mangala pravesha of His Holiness Swasti Sri Deevendrakeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji the pontiff of Hombuja Jain Math to the historic town Malakheda was held recently. Malakheda once the capital of the Rashtrakutas witnessed the historic visit of swamiji when he visited the place for the first time after becoming the Bhattakrakha of Sri Kshetra Hombuja. Speaking about its religious importance he said that – Malakheda which was also called as ‘Manyakheta’ is a punya bhoomi (holy place), as it is at this place that great Jain acharyas like Jinasenacharya, Virasenacharya, Gunabadhracharya & others lived here and published many Jain works. He further mentioned that as this Kshetra comes under the perview of Hombuja Jain Math, the Math would take all steps towards its development and bringing back its glory. He conveyed his Bhakti Namana to Acharya 108 Sri Shrutasagarji Maharaj for his continued efforts towards the betterment of Malakheda.

Acharya 108 Sri Shrutasagarji Maharaj delivered his discourse. Special pooja and aradhanas were conducted at Sri Mallinatha Digambar Jain temple & Sri Mahavir Digambar Jain temple in Malakheda on the occasion.

Members of the Jain samaj’s from Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur & Yadgir districts had collected in huge numbers to welcome His Holiness Swamiji.

Hombuja (Shimoga District, Karnataka), July 15, 2013: On the occasion of the forthcoming ‘Shravana Masa’, special poojas will be performed to Goddess Padmavati Devi at Hombuja. The poojas will be conducted on 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August 2013. All the poojas will be performed under the gudiance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Deevendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of Sri Kshetra Hombuja. The Maha abhisheka will be conducted at 9.00 am and Mahamangala arathi will be conducted at 12.00 noon on all the fridays. Hombuja (Shimoga District, Karnataka), June 25, 2013: The mandala pooja of Guddada Basadi will be conducted on June 29 & 30, 2013 under the guidance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji, the pontiff of Hombuja Jain Math. ‘Sarva Dosha Prayashchita Vidhana’ will be performed on June 29th. The Masthakabhisheka of Lord Parshwanath will be held on June 30th. The idol will be anointed with 108 Kalashas followed by panchamrutha abhisheka. The devotees are requested to participate actively in the celebrations.

It can be recalled here that the panchakalyana mahotsava of Guddada Basadi was conducted from May 10-16, 2013. Mandala pooja is performed after 48days of completing the panchakalyana mahotsava. – Sri Kshetra Hombuja

Hombuja (Hosanagara Taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka), April 2, 2013: More than 10,000 people thronged to Hombuja to witness the annual rathotsava (rathayatra) of Lord Parshwanath and Goddess Padmavati on Tuesday the April 2, 2013 the day of Mulanakshatra which happens to be the  birth day of Goddess Padmavati.
Devotees from across India had gathered at Hombuja to witness the rathayatra. Hombuja was fully Jam packed with devotees with many of them climbing the building around the Jain Math to witness the rathayatra. The city was completely immersed in bhakti with people regularly chanting the hymns & bhajans of Parshwanath & Padmavati. People from all walks of life and all ages involved themselves actively and slogans such as Bolo Padmvati Matha Ki Jai, bolo Parshwanath Bhagawan Ki Jai, Bolo Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji Ki Jai were heard enroute of the ratha.
His Holiness Swati Sri Devenrakeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji the pontiff of Hombuja first pulled the ratha along with other devotees at around 1 pm. This was followed by the Sri Vihara of rather from 3.00 pm onwards. The ratha moved through all the main roads of Hombuja. House holders had washed the roads i front of their houses with water & decorated them with artistic rangolis. It was indeed a feast to see the religious fervour of the devotees. Hombuja (Hosanagara Taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka), April 1, 2013: His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of Sri Hombuja Jain Math invited the devotees to actively participate & involve themselves in the forthcoming Panchakalyana scheduled to be held at Hombuja from 10-16 May, 2013. He mentioned this in his religous discourse in the religious gathering organised on the occasion of annual Rathayatra at Hombuja. He said that the rennovation of Guddada Basadi on the hillock and conducting the panchakalyana of Lord Parshwanath, Lord Shanthinath & Lord Bahubali in the Trikuta Jinalaya is of foremost important as it is a part of his sankalpa (vow) made during his pattabhisheka and was also aspired by the past Bhattarakhas.
Further he said that the youths are future of Jainism and felt that it is imperative to motivate the youths to actively involve in the activities of the religion. He also called upon the youth to actively involve themselves in Jainism related research. Further, he felt that the guidance of senior noted Jain scholars like Sri M.A.Jayanchandra is very much necessary for youths to move ahead in this direction. He also recalled how the guidance of Sri Jayachandra helped him decide his subject for his post doctoral research.

Hombuja (Hosanagara Taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka), April 1, 2013: Renowned Jain & Prakrit scholar Prof. M.A.Jayachandra called upon His Holiness SwastiSri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of Hombuja Jain Math to come up with a quartely publication/magazine in Kannada from Sri Ksehtra Hombuja to provide a platform for publishing Jain academic scholarly articles in Kannada. He was speaking as the chief speaker in a religious gathering organised on the occasion of the annual Rathayatra at Hombuja.
He said that there isn’t any such platform to publish academic articles in Kannada and felt that it is the need of the hour to fill that lacunae that exists among the Jain academic circles. He lauded the developmental works carried out by Devendrakeerth Swamiji.
Sri S.N.Ashok Kumar, editor of the Kannada Jain Periodical ‘Gommatavani’ was one of he chief guest on the occasion. It was launched in a religious gathering organised on the occasion of the annual Rathayatra at Hombuja.
Speaking on the occasion Sri Devendrakeerthi Swamiji felt that it is the need of the hour to be technologically connected with the external world through the modern means of communications to keep the younger generation and people staying in distant places informed about the activities at Hombuja. He felt that launching of the present website WWW.HOMBUJAPADMAVATI.ORG fulfills the greater need of comprehending the religious glory of the place & publicising the history, heritage, religious importance & activities at Hombuja. Hombuja (Hosanagara Taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka) March 17, 2013: The Panchakalyana pratishta mahotsava of the newly constructed Trikuta Jain temple will be held from MAy 10-16, 2013. The Jain idols pratishta & mahamasthakabhisheka mahotsava will be conducted on the occasion. His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji, the pontiff of Hombuja Jain Math has informed this in a press release today.

21 feet high idol of Lord Parshwanath flanked by the idol of Lord Shanthinath on the right & Lord Bahubali (consecrated in 898 A.D.) on its left will be installed in the Trikuta Jain temple. Further idols of Goddess Padmavati & Dharanendra Yaksha will be installed in the temple. A 43 feet high manastambha will be installed in front of the temple.
